While dusting out, I found this neglected post. FOs

Ruffles Scarf

I had purchased some ONline ruffle yarn last year. The technique used to knit this scarf was pretty easy once I got the hang of it...... it knits up very quickly.

Cast on 7 stitches and left around 1.5" between stitches. I used 2 balls of yarn, knit each ball separately and then joined using a 3 needle bind-off.

Heather Hoodie Vest

My finished hoodie vest..... I'm very happy with how it turned out.

Happy 2016!!!

Blowing off the dust in this blog and opening the windows, letting the sunshine in.  Ahhh, feels good to be back..... hopefully for a long, long time.

Just to give a little recap of what's going on craftwise:

I'm still kniting and crocheting when I have time.
I've been dabbling more in cooking/baking (cooking is a craft too, right?)
I've discovered a new"prosective" interest this year......... Cross stitch.

So, I'll be sharing my crafty journey here with you.  Wishing you all a wonderful year ahead!!!

I will never catch up...

...but I will try to backtrack a bit when I can.  For now, I will just show the latest additions to my yarn stash. I purchased these from The Loopy Ewe:

I love how the elves at Loopy Ewe always package their yarn so neatly to send out.  And, of course, I got my tootsie roll candy!

The gorgeous blue yarn is my Camp Loopy prize for participating in all 3 months and completing on time within the specified requirements.  The other 2 are some sock yarn that I wanted to try from the Berroco Sox line.

Happy knitting, everyone!

Heather Hoodie update pics

Here are some photos of how far I've reached on the Heather Hoodie:

This is the left front panel (photos above) that I'm working on now. It's going a little slower now since I'm kinda busy doing other non-knitting stuffs. Hope to finish this soon and start the right front panel.

The completed back piece. I did 6 cable repeats plus 4 rows. If you look closely you can see the mistakes I made with the cable.

Current WIP + FOs

I've been knitting consistently in my free time.... albeit very slowly. I'm currently working on the "Heather Hoodie Vest" from the 2009 fall issue Knitscene. It's my first "major" project using cables (the other cable project being Fetching gloves). I'm using Cascade Ecological Wool and it's coming along alright, although I do find the occasional strand of black or cream hair sticking out. I've finished the back... did 6 sets of cables and 4 rows to get 23 inches (2 inches longer than called for in the small size). Sorry I don't have an updated pic, will post one later. I'm loving the knitted fabric very much. I made a couple of mistakes with the cables but it's not noticeable unless you examine closely. I had gone too far on before I realized the mistakes. Oh well....

Some of my FOs since my last post:
I made 2 pairs of socks gifted to my niece and nephew. The pink/purple one is made using Opal cotton yarn and the gray one is Panda Cotton yarn. They were both super easy to make since it's just plain stockinette stitch and ribbing.

My latest FO I think is sooo cute: Meet Corkie the Korknisse!

Made from yarn scraps and a wine cork with a TOO BIG pompom on the hat. :P

Also made some dishcloths but will post the pics for those later.
